Ok, so I've finally found the catch with my job, which I don't like at all anymore.

Dear Mr. Bossy seems to have this idea that I don't have a life. For one.

Today, on my day off, I get a call on my private cellphone. It's from a coworker of mine asking if I can come by and lock up. Being that it was this particular person, whom I like and enjoy working with, I said sure! I was out and about anyway and hardly thought she deserved the headache it would bring had I said no. It's hardly her fault that Dear Mr. Bossy doesn't know professional and organized from complete chaos.

All said and done, I get there (thanks Cazzy), and we talk for a bit to kill time before closing up and leaving at nine pm.

A little over an hour later................. Dear Mr. Bossy has the nerve to call me... At ten past frikken' ten pm, on my day off, asking me to come by the office and let him in since he doesn't have a key. This is the official top pooch of the capital's offices.......... And he doesn't have a key..... Err..... What's wrong here??

Just the day before yesterday he was on my case for calling someone (who shall remain nameless) who had a day off, saying "No one wants to be *disturbed* on their day off."

AHEM!!!!!!! What the hell do you call phoning someone at ten past FUCKING ten in the evening ON THEIR DAY OFF!??!?!?!?? Puuleeeeeeezzzze!!!!!!

I have a VERY strong wish to live up to my name (vilia - if you speak swedish you'll understand) and just tell him to fuck off and stick the job where the sun don't shine.... I've been talking to some people (soz mum!) about these turns of events, in greater detail than I care to spell out here, and I'm not so sure I will stay on at this place for longer than the end of the month. If that.

It's not like the money is worth it.
Granted, I'd miss my peeps. Them I have no trouble with at all. I'm quite fond of them all, in fact. But it's not like we'd have to nip our friendships in the bud just because the job sucks!

Argh, and there's so many things I haven't mentioned here that adds to it all. I'm actually not whining... Just stating facts with pathos... How's that for a slogan fit for a t-shirt!?

So today is the International Women's Day... Recognized by the UN since 1975, yet not as many have heard about it as one would think.

We're doing this special at work (I'm in PR, well sort of...), where should the customer happen to be a woman - we drop the prices. It's also my boss' birthday. Not that either of the two events actually mean that much to me...

Oh well. What can you do?

Found out that there will be a Xena Con in New York in June. I've heard the rumours of it for a while now, but last night it was confirmed. There will be a three-day event, and also three concerts with Lucy Lawless.

Normally, I'd be spazzin up the walls over this, but being that it's in early June, and would set me back some $1400, all it makes me is depressed... =(

I'd sooooooooo much like to go, but that I simply cannot afford! And why the hell did they have to set it in June for?? That's like three months from now. Why not wait a little and let people get the chance of scraping together the money?!

Most people I've talked to are skinned already because of the last con, which was in January, and others just can't find the funds quickly enough. It's not like it's a cheap thing to go to! Granted, in the money I'd dish out is airfare and stuff included, and it's a pretty long trip to make from here to there, but still... The prices they're asking - I'm surprised so many are able to attend "all the time".

*Sighs and sits in a corner to sob...*

Makes for a crappy day... =(

Update on The Pin!

As some might remember, I was close to delirious a while back when I found out that a photo of a pin I had created had made its way to Lauren Graham of The Gilmore Girls… There is now a new chapter in this saga.

Now, there are details that I will not retell out of respect for Lauren, so just trust me when I say she had her reasons for what she said and leave it at that.

With that said – Caz, me lovely buddy who happens to be in contact with Lauren on occasion, sent her a nod from me, showing my support and undersigned “the pin-girl”. Apparently, that’s how I’m now known to them (oh dear). Not five minutes later I get a message from Lauren herself on my mySpace!

(waiting to land as I nearly faint)

How cool is this!? How unimaginably awesome is it?? Seriously!
And this is the real Lauren, not a poser! (we have proof of this – lol)

She’s just a really cool person! Can’t believe she took time out of her day to send a message to little old me!

The Pin in question...

Two bits of news today. One good one bad.

The bad one is that one of Sweden's most talented actresses (ever - if you ask me) passed away two days ago. Johanna Sällström

Johanna Sällström was 32 years old and left behind a 4 year old daughter. She was alone in her flat when it happened and they have ruled out foul play.

If you pardon my language, heck this is MY site - I'll say whatever I want(!), this is just so fucking sad!! She was brilliant! Got a Guldbagge (sort of like our version of the Oscars or BAFTA's) at age 22 for a part so well-played you could have said it was a documentary you were watching, not a film.

Rest In Peace, Johanna. You will be missed!

* * *

The good news is that I got promoted!
After only one day on the job!

On tuesday (13th) I was on an interview, got the job and started the same day. Yesterday (14th) I had the day off, (lovely schedule, eh?). And today my boss phoned me and asked if I could come in early because he wanted to give me my keys and codes and stuff.

I was slightly gobsmacked and figured "What keys? Why do I need codes?" Then he explained that I had been promoted.

WOW!!! That's a first! Not the promotion-thing itself, but the after only one day-fact...

On top of that, I've also gotten a raise. A pretty hefty one at that! My hours wont change and some of my previous workload will be subtracted and replaced by some other things that I'd rather be doing anyway so yay!

However, I'm holding back on my ululations for now, as it all seems a bit too good to be true and I want to see it for myself first. You never know, might get smacked in the face with a cod when I get there.
(no - I'm not working with fish)

Oh well...
